Why three sessions

Your third session is your fastest.

The first ten minutes, you’re learning where to brake. By the second, you’re racing. The third is where the times come down and the bragging rights get decided. That’s why we made it free when you book online.

  • Learn it. Find the braking points and the fast way through.
  • Race it. Now you’re hunting your mates down.
  • Settle it. Session three is free, and it’s the one everyone remembers.

Too short to drive? Ride along.

Our double kart puts an adult driver (150 cm or taller) and a child passenger in the same kart. Ten minutes for $100 ($65 driver + $35 passenger), and extra sessions are $45 each.

Chasing a time? Get under 40.

Every lap is timed and your times print at the end. Break 40 seconds in a hire kart and you’re eligible for our team enduros: hours of racing under lights on a 24-kart grid.

First-timers say

Worth every lap.

“This track is cool and fun. Karts handled great and the staff there were super friendly and inviting. Troy took care of us on the day and he was able to give us a few pointers to improve our lap times, where to brake and where not to etc. Highly recommend this. Suggest the 3x 10min session package.”

“We came to Wollongong Karts today, neither myself or my Son has go karted beforehand. We were made to feel very welcome straight from the get go. Once in the reception everything was explained to us before watching a video tutorial, we were then directed back to the track where we were called for our first session,…”
Andrew HodgesFamily day
“Great track, great karts, great team and great fun. They fit us in at last minute and we had a really good time over three sessions. Super friendly team running it as well, with feedback on how to improve. We will be back for sure!”

Questions, answered

How old do you need to be?
Hire karts: 10 and over, and at least 150 cm tall so you can reach the pedals safely. Race karts and enduros: 15 and over. Friday Night League juniors are 10 to 16.
What’s the annual membership?
Every Arrive & Drive driver becomes a Wollongong Karts member. It’s $15, lasts 12 months and comes with a quick indemnity form. After that you just book and drive. Tick the membership box when you book.
Do I need a balaclava?
Yes, if you’re wearing one of our helmets. They’re $6 and yours to keep. Add one when you book or grab one at the counter. Bringing your own helmet with a visor, or your own balaclava? You’re covered.
What should I wear?
We recommend enclosed shoes and comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. Tie back long hair and leave scarves and anything loose at home. For the race karts you’ll need your own fully enclosed shoes (thin, soft soles are best); we supply the suit, gloves and helmet.
How long should we allow?
About 90 minutes for a three-session visit, including sign-in and the safety briefing. On weekends, public holidays, school holidays and in the lead-up to Christmas, allow extra time.
What happens if it rains?
We race in the wet. A bit of drizzle just makes it a different track. If conditions become unsafe, we move your booking to another available date. Bookings aren’t refunded because of weather.
Do I need to book?
We strongly recommend it. On weekends, public holidays, school holidays and before Christmas, paid bookings get their time slot first. Walk-ins and unpaid phone bookings can wait a long time or be pushed back.
Are there any surcharges?
Arrive & Drive and party packages carry a 10% surcharge on Sundays, public holidays and in December. Corporate Grand Prix packages carry 10% in December.
