The 4-hour enduro

Four hours. Seven seconds.

At a recent 4-hour enduro, the top four teams finished on the lead lap and the top three were separated by 7 seconds. That’s what consistency, clean driver changes and a bit of racecraft get you.

  • $780 per team, teams of 2 to 6 drivers, or $225 to enter solo
  • Qualify by pace: you’ll need WKR hire kart experience and laps under 40 seconds
  • Pizza, drinks and trophies for the top three after the flag
  • Only 24 karts, so grids fill fast
How the racing works

Consistency wins.

The winning team completes the most laps with the most consistent lap times. Full rules are confirmed at the drivers’ briefing.

Grid draw

Starting positions are drawn, and the race runs clockwise. Every driver does a stint of at least 20 minutes.

Break-out lap time

A fastest permitted lap time is set on the day. Beat it and you get two warnings, then a one-lap penalty each time.

Clean racing

No contact. Spinning, bumping or cutting the track earns black flags, and three means you’re out.

Enduro questions

Do I need a licence?
Yes. Every enduro driver needs a WKR Endurance licence ($65 per person, valid for 12 months), or an existing WKR practice or race licence. You can add it when you book.
What do I need to wear?
A race suit or one-piece overalls, helmet, gloves and enclosed shoes. No gear? Add the race suit and helmet hire package for $60 per person.
How old do I need to be?
15 or older. Karting experience is preferred for the 2-hour, and the 4-hour needs WKR hire kart experience with laps under 40 seconds.
I don’t have a team. Can I still race?
Yes. Enter as a solo driver and we’ll team you up with other drivers. If we can’t find you a team spot, you’re refunded after the event. No-shows aren’t refunded.
What if the race is postponed?
If an enduro is postponed for any reason, your entry moves to the next event.
What happens in the wet?
Enduros run in the wet, and it changes everything: strategy, grip and who’s fast. If conditions become unsafe, the event is rescheduled and entries carry over.
